The Helix AFO provides a three point force system supporting dorsiflexion weakness with some coronal plane control.
Utilising the high tensile strength properties of epoxy reinforced carbon fibre in its structure and trim design. Features include a strong helical strut originating from a posterior calf cuff, inserting into a footplate at the lateral aspect of the calcaneus.
The posterior calf cuff has graduated flexibility towards the tips of the medio-lateral wings.
The footplate has graduated flexibility along its length, is rigid at the rear and midfoot but becomes flexible from the metatarsals distally. A flat 13mm pitched profile allows a base for inclusion of foot orthoses.
